Usability tests and findings
This project focuses on trying to improve the user experience of the new student portal that was already in development. The project included an evaluation of the interface to find obvious issues, usability testing of the portal, and proposed interface changes to improve the overall user experience. The goal was to create a user-friendly and intuitive interface that would meet the needs of students and faculty.
The project began by gathering insights through user research, interviews, and analyzing user feedback as well as an evaluation of the interface. Since this was not the live version of the student portal interviews mostly focused on what the users wanted from their new student portal.
The usability testing was conducted with a diverse group of participants, including students and faculty. The participants were given a series of tasks to perform on the interface, while the UX designer observed their interactions, collected feedback, and measured task completion rates and time taken.
The findings from the usability testing revealed several issues of differing levels of severity. From these findings, combined with the interviews and evaluation prototyping started on proposed changes that would help solve these issues.

Based on the findings from usability testing, changes to the interfaces were proposed in the form of high-fidelity prototypes. These were then tested with users to gather feedback and refine the design. The results from the tests showed improvements in user satisfaction, increased task completion rates, and reduced user errors.

Through the process of usability testing and creating prototypes of the proposed changes based on the findings, the user experience was successfully enhanced and the proposed changes made it into the final version of the student portal.
